Frequently Asked Questions

Service tiers, coverage, contracts and rates for commercial technology work across the Charlotte metro area.

What is the difference between Tier 1 and Tier 2 service?+

Tier 1 is on-site service within 50 miles of Belmont, NC — Charlotte, Gastonia, Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Concord, Huntersville, Mooresville, Matthews, Pineville, Lincolnton, Kings Mountain, Mount Holly, Cramerton, Hickory, and Statesville. We physically come to your location. Tier 2 is remote-only — we manage your Microsoft 365, monitor your network, administer your VoIP system, and provide helpdesk support without traveling to you. Tier 2 is available anywhere in the United States.

Do you service businesses outside the Charlotte area?+

Yes. Tier 2 remote managed IT is available anywhere in the US. Tier 3 project work is also available anywhere in the US with travel included in the written quote. If you're outside our 50-mile Tier 1 radius, contact us and we'll tell you exactly what we can do.

How far can a fixed wireless link reach?+

A point-to-point fixed wireless link can reliably cover 5 to 25 miles with line of sight, depending on equipment and terrain. Building-to-building links within a campus are typically under a mile. Line of sight between the two antennas is the main requirement — trees, hills, and buildings in the path reduce range and reliability.

Why do you install wired cameras instead of wireless?+

Wired cameras don't go offline when the Wi-Fi gets congested, rebooted, or interfered with. In a warehouse or commercial facility, your wireless network is already used by phones, laptops, scanners, and other devices — adding 20 or 40 cameras creates problems. A wired camera system runs on its own dedicated cable infrastructure, completely separate from your Wi-Fi. Every camera system we install is wired for exactly this reason.

What is included in a managed IT contract?+

Network monitoring and alerting, endpoint monitoring and patch management, Microsoft 365 administration, helpdesk support for your staff, and monthly reporting. Contracts are priced per device or per user depending on scope. Contact us for a quote based on your device count and service requirements.

What does a site assessment cost?+

The initial site assessment is free. We walk your facility, document what you have, identify gaps, and give you a written quote before any work begins. No obligation, no cost.

How fast can you respond to an emergency?+

For Tier 1 managed clients, we respond to critical issues within four business hours for remote issues and same-day or next-day for on-site issues. Break-fix clients are scheduled on availability. For emergencies, call us directly at (980) 494-3560.

Do you work with small businesses or only large companies?+

Both. Our smallest clients are single-location businesses with 5 employees. Our largest are multi-building commercial facilities. Tell us what you have and we'll tell you what makes sense.

Do you sell equipment, or is it labor only?+

We supply and install equipment as part of our project quotes — cameras, cable, access points, switches, VoIP handsets, access control hardware. If you've already purchased equipment you want us to install, contact us to discuss.
